The Tower of London is one of the world’s most popular and iconic tourist attractions and a World Heritage Site, attracting over two million visitors a year from all over the world. Built by William the Conqueror in the early 1080s the Tower’s role has been as a fortress, palace and prison. Through the centuries that followed, successive monarchs added to the fortifications.
Kinnersley Kent Design was commissioned to create a shopping experience befitting of one of London’s most treasured historical landmarks. Our brief was to draw in more customers, increase their dwell time in a very small space and enhance their Tower of London experience.
Our concept balances history with innovation. The design of the museum shop and entrance areas is in keeping with the Tower’s rich history and celebrates their heritage. We created points of interest dedicated to the customer and improved and increased customer flow through the Royal Palace.
We delivered a unique sales environment in a confined space. The new shop has resulted in a three-fold increase in takings whilst celebrating London’s unique wealth of history with an exciting retail experience.
