Intro

House of Fraser is the UK’s leading department store for designer brands, with 61 stores nationwide. The 160 year old business has annual sales in excess of £1.3 billion, employs over 16,000 people and has nearly 5 million sq ft of selling space.

Brief

We have partnered with House of Fraser to design both new build stores as well as refurbishing their existing portfolio. Our latest cutting edge design has helped reposition the group to become the UK and Ireland’s leading department store for designer brands.

Solution

The new stores are embodiments of the latest in department store design. The use of beautifully detailed materials, high impact circulation spaces and carefully designed brand environments ensure that the customer experiences glamour, elegance and sophistication at every level. Each department has been individually designed to ensure that House of Fraser offers a contemporary shopping experience aimed at exceeding customers’ expectations.

Result

John King, CEO of House of Fraser commented: ‘The wait for a truly world class shopping experience is over. Our latest stores not only reflect this in terms of design and architecture, but also in the line up of brands and experiences which we’re introducing to the different cities and regions.” Kinnersley Kent Design’s work with House of Fraser has won numerous awards, most notably an Interior Excellence Award and Department Store Interior of the Year.
